The Perry County Community Foundation is proud to support the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra’s (HSO) mission through grant funding. The Symphony is fully professional and relies entirely on corporate and private philanthropic support to cover wages, salaries and associated production costs.

The Harrisburg Symphony’s mission is to present inspiring symphonic performances and educational programs for audiences of all ages, thereby fostering an appreciation for and knowledge of music to enrich the cultural life of Central Pennsylvania. This is accomplished not only at the Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg, but also throughout the community. Summer concerts have been part of the HSO’s soul since its inception in 1931, when the organization shared the intent to perform summer concerts in the community even before their first official performance in March 1931. Live music creates shared experiences that connect us not only to those around us, but to those who came before us. Music binds us unlike anything else and for the HSO, it is their passion and mission to provide musical experiences to transport their audiences to other worlds, feel emotions, and lose themselves in the music.

Your support during the Season of Giving allows the Perry County Community Foundation to continue offering aid to nonprofits like the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.
